She was only sixteen when she discovered that she was somewhat different than the other girls her age. Ally was attracted to other girls, which she felt very guilty for this fact. She eventually held relations with another girlfriend of hers, that involved more emotions than that of just two simple teenage girls. The affair started when the girls went on a double blind date together. They all went ice skating together, and the girls were racing each other on the ice. Ally had been friends with Pam since they were small toddlers. She never thought that she would eventually develop a physical attraction to the old friend. Ally was an only child, and she saw Pam as more of a sister than a friend. Now, that she was aware of these feelings, she decided to tell Pam. Pam told Ally that she felt the same. Afterwards, they spent many years spending the night with each other, and keeping their romantic relationship a secret. Finally, when it came for the girls to go off to college, they had to end the private love affair. This devastated Ally, but she knew that if she was going to make her family proud, she had to grow out of this stage of attraction, and start dating men. Now that Ally was twenty-two years of age, she began to think of the future. How would she ever have children? If she did have adopted children, she felt that it would not be fair to raise them in a same sex relationship. Her family was extremely religious, and these past actions just were not excepted to the church or the public. Ally felt torn between what she felt was right and the attractions that she continued to have for other woman. She finally thought that dating men might help her to change her ways. But, the first date seemed to go well as far as conversation, but lacked with any physical attraction to the man. Ally became depressed and called her long lost friend Pam for comfort. Pam always made Ally feel better, no matter what the situation, but this time it was different. Pam said that she had started dating men, and that she couldn't talk with Ally because she had changed her ways. Ally asked her if dating men really helped to change her, or if she was putting on a show for everyone. Pam became angry, and refused to speak with Ally. Ally then decided to seek out mental professional help for her issue. After years of counselling and medication, she finally seemed to realize that she was very much normal after all. She learned that many boys and girls develop attractions towards the same sex as they mature. Some choose to take on this role of interest, while others seem to just pretend and carry on heterosexual relationships. Ally eventually found a man, and became pregnant with her first child. The tickle held within her stomach (from the babies foot), seemed to help remind her all the reasons why not to be homosexual. There are so many people in the world today that deal with this issue. Ally continues to now speak publicly about her situation, in hopes that she will encourage teens and young adults to stray away from their attractions to the same sex. Ally is a wonderful example of how a person with same sex attractions can change with time. Ally doesn't judge the current homosexual relationships, but simply wants to encourage heterosexual relationships for society of the children of the future.
